We finally got to get the lines wet!! It's been a BRUTUAL winter that seemed to not want to let up but Mother Nature decided enough was enough (Thank God). So, off we went on Nelson! With a record turn out of 23 teams, we went out in 2 flights. Though the snow wasn't falling, the winds were blowing. In turn, made the water extremely muddy and a tougher day for competitors. Yet, Nelson decided to cough up a few beauties for some to enjoy! With some nice 5 & 6 pounders caught, most found the cookie cutters along with less number of fish being caught. The duo of Justin & Jason snatched the victory by a 3 1/2 lb margin weighing in 14.16lbs! Followed by Matt & Steph bringing in 11.68 finishing just ahead of Paul and Tony with 11.14 anchored by Tony's Big Bass of the tournament 6.53. Due to water still being hard, we as a club voted on the Spiritwood/Ashtabula tourney and if by chance the waters open we will continue as scheduled but if not we will have a 2 day tourney on Nelson May 5th & 6th.
