The second event of the year has come and gone! I feel I can speak for most by saying it can be described with one word "TOUGH". The Bandits started out Sat morning on Ashtabula with 12 boats revved and ready to go! Deep, shallow, north, south and everything in between, the Bandits threw everything but the kitchen sink at em and only 2 teams were able to prevail. The teams of Marty & Matt along with Joe & Billy were able to bring in 2 fish a piece with Marty & Matt barely edging them out with 5.68lbs. Joe & Billy weighed in 5.57lbs. Hair jigs were the ticket for both of these teams. After a nice night of rest and trying to mentally prepare for Spiritwood, the Bandits fielded 11 for the lake that just iced out 4 days prior. With even colder water than what was seen on Ashtabula, the Bandits were once again able to put it together and bring in some decent limits! The team of Colton & Jamie were able to coax a hefty 4.21lb beauty to bite for the Big Bass of the tournament! Even though Spiritwood didn't allow the Beasts to come out and play, OK numbers were reported by some and again Marty & Matt were able to hunker down and bring in 9.12lbs for the day and a total of 14.90lbs and the tournament WIN!! With most staying shallow, lures varying from jerkbaits, shad raps, curly tails and hair jigs all played a factor into enticing them to bite. Even though we were a few weeks early, it was still a great turn out! Thank you all for joining and hope to see everyone at Lake Darling June 9th!!
