Tschida
Lake Tschida certainly is one of the prettiest lakes that we fish all year long, the smallie population doesn’t seem to be up to par with the potential for this lake, hopefully the Game and Fish will do some stocking and this certainly could be a top notch fishery. The day before prefishing was HOT! And I mean temperature wise 95 and the winds were down and I was boiling out there! Fishing was ok about what you would expect for this lake a whole lot of little fish and not much else! The frog bite was on big time and it was pretty fun getting blow up after blow up. Tourney day rolled around we had good attendance and mother nature who has been kind to us all year long on tourney days decided that she wanted a little revenge.
Winds were out of the southeast and kept changing directions as two different fronts passed thru the area with winds of 25 plus and some real nice waves out in the main lake. I drew last so I was the starter and off the boats roared pretty much all of them headed west except for a couple. My game plan for the day was to be frog fishing and having fun but the wind was just too much for that in the areas I was going to fish. I headed to a bay to get out of the wind saw Paul and Prarie there and Tony and Amanda and Jason fishing was slow there not too much happening so I blew out of there and headed out into the lake and the wind searching for fish, I was going to try a point that the wind was hammering into but Cody beat me to it, I tried another bay no luck, off to the lake again I went to another windblown point, dropped the Terrova and threw on a crank and the third cast I caught two fish in one cast! I knew than I was in the right spot as I caught fish after fish for a good hour putting one keeper in the well. From there headed farther down the point the wind was horrible waves were in the three foot plus range rolling in there but there was a nice mud line developing and I started tossing tubes in there and catching fish, a nice 2.75 Pounder grabbed it and I dang near beached the boat in those waves trying to land that crazy fish! It turned out to be a good spot and I got a lot of fish there.
A lot of boats were roaring around the lake as usual I only seen one other person besides me fishing in the teeth of the wind and that was Matt everyone else was hiding in a bay someplace in calmer waters chasing there fish, if I have learned anything from many years of fishing it is that fish will always be attracted to windblown points and shorelines! Overall it turned out to be a good tourney, I especially enjoyed the good turnout for camping the night before. Here is your top 5.
1st: Marty mantz 6.65 Pds (3 SMB) also Big Bass 2.76 Pds

Good job everyone it was a tough tournament with tough conditions to fish in and everyone did well! We had 20 anglers weigh in 30 fish totaling 42.86 Pds for an average of 1.43 Pds pre fish, see yak at Sakakawea! A massive lake with some massive fish!
