Club meeting topics

Hello all, one issue I have for the next season is trolling. There is no rule that outlaws trolling. I would like to see that added. If you want to ‘stroll’ I think that’s fine but outright trolling should not be allowed. Please post with other suggestions or ideas you have.

I agree. I would also like to see the off limits be set to begin the Monday of the tournament week on all lakes. This will level the field quite a bit in my opinion. I’d also like to change from 8-9 tournaments down to 4-5 two day tournaments for regular season and a 3 day Classic Championship. Much easier for members to be able schedule 5 weekends off for tournaments than 8-10 different days. These are just my ideas to help membership. I also wouldn’t mind seeing either an increased buy in or a portion of entry go towards Angler of Year pot.

The problem with multiple 2 day tournaments (in the past) was that tended to actually DECREASE participation. What I found was that many people would have some kind of obligation (work, family, etc) for one day out of a weekend. So if the tournament was Saturday and Sunday, they wouldn’t show because they couldn’t complete the tournament. Instead, what we did was have two tournaments in one weekend. That way, even if they had to miss a day, they still had a tournament that they could fish in.

Granted, this was a few years ago when the Keena clan would show up and make up half of the tournament participants.
